Royal Holiday Vacation Club Sanitation And Safety Procedures For Covid-19

Royal Holiday Vacation Club has announced new sanitation procedures that will be followed in its 180 hotel and resort locations as it prepares to welcome guests once again during the Covid-19 pandemic. To facilitate this the company has partnered with Cristal International Standards, a company that enforces quality standards and systems, and Ecolab, a global leader in the provision of hygiene and infection prevention services.
Cristal International Standards has provided standards to assure guest health and safety, cleaning for guest rooms, food preparation, and water quality. All staff has undertaken professional training in the required procedures and processes that are required to meet these standards. In addition, periodic audits will be conducted for all staff in their areas of responsibility to ensure compliance. Ecolab will provide its quality-assured cleaning and hygiene products to ensure food safety and cleanliness in all areas of the hotel, particularly when preparing, serving, and storing food, to guarantee guest safety.
Following is an outline of the Royal Holiday Vacation Club sanitation and safety measures that will be taken in specific areas of their hotels.
Check-In and Public Areas
When guests arrive at the hotel, the Cristal International Standard POSICHECK Covid-19 Certification will be applied to check their health. Staff will take the guest’s temperature and ask them to complete a health questionnaire as part of the check-in process. Throughout their stay medical staff is available on demand for any health issues that guests may have. Their luggage will also be disinfected before it is delivered to their rooms. The front desk area will also be disinfected between each guest’s check-in.
During their stay all guests are required to practice social distancing and hand sanitizing gel is available at reception and throughout the hotel for guest’s use. The public areas of the hotel are regularly cleaned and disinfected to Cristal International Standards for cleanliness in public areas.
Guest Rooms
Guest rooms will be cleaned regularly to Cristal International Standards’ ROOM CHECK certification. Cleaning and disinfection procedures will be performed regularly with Ecolab products when guests leave their room
Prior to a guest’s arrival, all common objects in the room (remote controls, telephone, safety deposit box, electrical outlets, and other elements) will be cleaned and disinfected using Ecolab products.
A dedicated TV channel will broadcast security and hygiene protocols and a personal hygiene kit will be made available to each guest.
Food and Beverage Areas
All restaurants and bars will operate at reduced capacity to enable proper social distancing measures. Tables and chairs will be disinfected after each service. Silverware will be provided in sealed packages and all other table utensils will be disinfected prior to use as well as menus (which are also available on tablets or through QR codes).
Room service, where available, will be delivered in completely sealed containers and left at the door of a guest’s room. Cristal International Standards FOOD CHECK Certification will be applied in all bar and food service areas and during food preparation using Ecolab products and processes. In addition, our water systems meet the AQUACHECK water system certification to ensure the highest standards of water purity.
Entertainment and Pool Areas
Entertainment facilities will be cleaned and disinfected before opening each day, at the completion of each activity and at the end of each shift. This includes the Kids Club, Spa, Gym, and sporting facilities areas. Sanitizing stations will be provided at all entertainment areas. All Spa complimentary items (robes, sandals, and towels) will be washed and disinfected between uses and are presented in sealed packages.
In pool areas and at the beach sunbeds will be arranged in pairs with a minimum of five feet separation. All sunbeds, service tables, and chairs in the pool area will be disinfected after they have been used. Towels are guaranteed clean and regularly disinfected; employees providing towels will wear gloves. A high standard of cleanliness and sanitation is provided in all our rooms. Pools will be maintained in accordance with the POOL CHECK Certification to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in pool areas.
